Home Remodeling in Los Angeles
One licensed team for kitchens, bathrooms, additions, and whole-home renovations across Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley — design, permits, and construction under one contract.
Remodeling Los Angeles Homes, the Right Way
Remodeling a home in Los Angeles means working with LADBS plan check, city-specific zoning rules, older housing stock, and neighborhoods that range from 1920s Spanish bungalows in Burbank to mid-century ranch homes in the Valley. Green Tech Remodeling & Design INC has done it here since 2005 — over 20 years of permitted, inspected, completed remodels across Los Angeles County.
We take projects end to end: design and 3D planning, engineering, permit submission, and construction by our own licensed crews. You get one contract, one point of contact, and a team that is accountable from demolition to the final walkthrough — not a stack of subcontractors pointing at each other.
Whether you are opening up a kitchen, adding a bathroom, removing walls for an open-concept living space, or renovating the whole house down to the studs, we scope the work to your structure, your budget, and the way Los Angeles families actually live.

Remodeling Questions from Los Angeles Homeowners
Quick answers about permits, timelines, older homes, and working with a design-build contractor in LA.
Do I need a permit to remodel my home in Los Angeles?
Most structural work does. In Los Angeles, permits are required for wall removal, electrical, plumbing, HVAC changes, additions, and anything affecting the structure, while cosmetic updates like paint and cabinet refacing usually are not. We determine exactly what your project needs, prepare the drawings, and submit directly to LADBS so the work is fully permitted and insurable.
How long does a whole-home remodel take in Los Angeles?
A single-room remodel such as a kitchen or bathroom typically runs 6–12 weeks of construction once permits are approved. A whole-home renovation usually takes 4–8 months including design and permitting. Timeline depends on the scope, LADBS plan check for structural work, and material lead times — we give you a realistic schedule at the estimate stage and keep you updated weekly during construction.
Can you remodel an older Los Angeles home?
Yes — much of our work is on 1920s–1960s homes across the Valley and greater LA. Older homes often hide knob-and-tube wiring, galvanized plumbing, unpermitted past work, or foundation issues. We assess these during the estimate, fold corrections into the plan, and coordinate any structural engineering so the finished remodel is fully permitted.
Do you handle design and permits, or only construction?
All of it. Green Tech is a design-build general contractor: our in-house team produces the design and 3D renderings, our engineers stamp the drawings, and we submit and manage permits directly with LADBS and city building departments. You work with one contract and one point of contact from the first sketch to the final inspection.
Can we stay in our home during the remodel?
Often, yes. For kitchen or bathroom remodels, most Los Angeles families stay home while we seal off work zones and protect the rest of the house. Whole-home renovations that involve structural work or systems shutoffs are harder to live through — we will tell you honestly at the estimate whether staying put or moving out briefly is the better call for your project.
How do I verify Green Tech is a licensed Los Angeles remodeler?
Green Tech Remodeling & Design INC holds CSLB license #1055131, an active Class B General Building license held since 2005, and carries a 4.8-star average across 381 Google reviews. You can verify our license free at cslb.ca.gov — we encourage every homeowner to check any contractor's license before signing anything.
